10-year-old Brennan Simkins was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) after becoming very sick four years ago. He had a bone marrow transplant, but relapsed three months later. His parents were told to prepare for hospice care at home.
"Every time I closed my eyes, it felt like I was going to die while asleep," Brennan told the TODAY Show. But Brennan and his family decided to keep on trying. They reached out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, whose mission is to never give up on a child, and began an aggressive treatment plan.
