You Won't Believe Who Painted These Watercolors

Iris Grace is a 5-year-old girl living in the UK who was diagnosed with autism in December 2011. While her condition has not been without its challenges (she's only just begun to speak and has difficulty with social interactions), she's also been blessed with a tremendous gift. "We have been encouraging Iris to paint to help with speech therapy, joint attention, and turn taking," Iris Grace's mother, Arabella Carter-Johnson says. "Then we realized she is actually really talented and has an incredible concentration span of around two hours each time she paints."

The results of Iris Grace's efforts, which can be seen below, are exquisitely composed watercolors in soft, dreamlike pastel palettes. "Her autism has created a style of painting, which I have never seen in a child of her age, she has an understanding of colors and how they interact with each other. She beams with excitement and joy when I get out the paints, it lifts her mood every time," her mother says.

Fans of the Iris Grace's work can purchase Giclee prints or greeting cards featuring the paintings via her website or bid on originals through online auction (the current highest bid on "Dance to the Oboe" is $2,282!). We're simply in awe of this little girl's immense talent!
