Mama or Dada: Which Did Your Tot Say First?

Aug 27 2014 - 2:08pm

Oh, those precious first words babies say when they've finally found their voice. As soon as they come out, you cheer, you cry, you say, "What?" After carrying, birthing, nursing, and generally taking the dominant role in raising them, the least many moms hope to get in return are some first words that sound vaguely like "mama." Unfortunately, that isn't always the case. Sometimes, despite all of the coaching, baby's first words are "dada."

Such was the case for Rachel Zoe today. The designer and reality star took to social media to express her frustration that both her boys, Skyler, 3, and Kaius, 9 months, chose her husband, Rodger Berman, over her for their first words:

unclear why both my children's first words are "da da" when I carried them and gave birth to them..#unfairmommymoment [1] #kaiusjagger [2] xoRZ

Don't fret, Rachel! It happens to the most doting of moms . . . we've all been there!
