Between 24/7 diaper duty and sleepless nights, moms tend to lose touch with their friends once a baby arrives, especially those who don't have their own little ones to tend to. While we know the difficulties in maintaining your nonmom friendships [1], putting in that extra effort to grab coffee or talk on the phone is worth it. Not only because you want these women to be there when the kids head off to college, but also because they can provide some much-needed laughter and love over the next 18 years. They always find a way to get you out of the house.

Or at the very least, come over with a bottle of wine.

They give you an excuse to talk about something other than kids.

They happily tell you when there's diaper doo doo on your face.

They keep you up to date on all your TV shows.

And all the celebrity gossip.

Since they don't have kids, they always offer to take care of yours.

They let you vent about all the annoying playgroup and PTA moms.

They admire all that you do, and will happily tell you.
