"If you're unable to have bigger pets such as cat[s] or dog[s] because of allergies, I'd say a fish. They require little care, just fed once a day and tank water changed once a month. You [don't] have to walk them, bath them, and they don't smell. Plus when it dies they're pretty easy to replace." — Colleen M.
"Fish. My son loved helping with cleaning and feeding [it]. (We had a doser in our feeding bottle so he wouldn't over feed.) When [our fish] Joshua died, my son put it in a box and we buried it and had a ceremony. Then he did the neatest thing, he put his rocks on top of the grave. I think it depends on your child and you.
