These Parents Must Be Doing Something Right

Usually when kids stash their cash for a few weeks or months, they're saving for a special toy or video game. That's why this post we came across on Reddit titled "How my son wanted to spend the $120 he saved this year" from user Phineas1713 stopped us in our tracks.

"Saturday morning, my son walked into my room and said he wanted to use his money to help the homeless. I asked him what he had in mind, and he said he wanted to make them lunches. I have to be honest, I almost tried to talk him into just holding onto his money and having mom and dad pay for it, but the light in his eyes told me to just roll with it."

Here's how it all went down:

"My son put me on sandwich duty while he stuffed the bags with the stuff he picked out at the store."

"Lunch on the counter."

"Proud little guy."

"Lunch in the car."

"He did most of the handing-out by himself, but this was the only picture we got of us actually giving the stuff out."

If this mom and dad have a secret to raising such a philanthropic, selfless child, we want in. This simple, feel-good (no, make that feel-great) story is what the holidays are all about!
