This Man Has a Challenge For All the Dads Out There (and We Like It a Lot!)

While thousands of people have spent the past month dousing themselves in ice water for ALS Awareness, Kendell Smith is challenging men to do something else — be better fathers. The North Carolina dad posted a video to his Facebook page under the title "New Challenge... Only Real men can do this." In the video, Smith says he is not one to participate in social media dares, but "since everyone else is doing a challenge," he feels he should do one too. As he bends over to pick up what viewers assume is an ice bucket, he lifts up his son and dares dads and dads-to-be to live up to their titles.

"Be a father," Smith says while holding his son. "Take care of your kids. Be there in their lives and mean something to him."

The video, which was posted at the beginning of August, has been "liked" more than 16,300 times and shared by more than 98,000 people. Let's hope just as many men are willing to take on Smith's daddy dare.
