You Have to See How This Dad Reacts to His Son Choosing an Ariel Doll For His Birthday

"How would you feel if your son chose this?" That's the question California dad Mikki Willis asked when posting a video about the toy — an Ariel doll from The Little Mermaid — his son picked out for his birthday.

If you thought he'd be disappointed, you'd be very wrong.

After 4-year-old Azai received duplicate gifts on his birthday, Mikki took him to a toy store to exchange one. When the young boy picked the stereotypical "girl" toy, it didn't faze his dad at all.

"I let my boys choose their life," he said in the Facebook video, after a few collective squeals.

And then, he turned the camera onto his two young boys and said, "Choose your expression. Choose what you're into. Choose your sexuality. Choose whatever. You have my promise right now, both of you, as we sit in this car, in the hot car, in this parking lot, you have my promise forever to love you and accept you no matter what life you choose."

This powerful stance on how toys shouldn't be assigned to a specific gender isn't the first we've heard about lately. This video — which has garnered more than 14 million views — comes just weeks after Target announced its decision to omit gender-based labels on toys, bedding, and entertainment products for kids.

And although this stance has gotten its share of pushback, it seems Mikki and Azai have gotten resounding support. Here's what the proud pop had to say about all the buzz over his video and what it means for children everywhere:
