You Won't Believe What These Dads Did For Their School Crossing Guard

Evidence that miracles really do come true . . . When their beloved school crossing guard had his car repossessed, these Dallas dads didn't just offer him a ride home — they bought him a new car. Nathaniel Kendrick has worked at Lakewood Elementary School for 10 years. He knows every student by name. When his wife became ill, Kendrick did everything he could to care for her, but struggled financially. That's when his car was taken from him.

"My mother told me long before she passed, 'Take care of your wife.' So I try my best," the crossing guard told ABC affiliate WFAA.

In this heartwarming video, a group of dads from Friends of Lakewood, a local parenting group, park a Mercury sedan in the crosswalk while Kendrick is working — which would of course normally be a no-no. They then inform him that he has to move it himself because, well, it's his.

"It was a real treat to get to see the look on this man's face when we were able to hand him the keys," Friends of Lakewood shared on its Facebook page. "This is what the holiday season is all about!"
