Coloring and using crayons seem like a natural part of childhood, but the Southside Primary School in Cleveland, TX, is banning crayons and coloring sheets in classrooms in response to low-performing test scores at the third- and fourth-grade level, The Stir reports. The school district says elementary school students need to focus more on "academics" instead of art to prep them for the tests in the higher grades.
