Nothing like a good cry to wake you up on a Monday morning, right? Ellen DeGeneres is constantly hosting people with inspiring stories on her show, and you're probably no stranger to shedding a few tears while watching her team go out of its way to reward hardworking people who give back to their communities. Ellen doesn't always join in the crying, but in the case of kindergarten teacher Sonya Romero, she just couldn't help it — you'll see why. The New Mexico teacher, who's mother to her son and two foster children, makes sure her students at Lew Wallace Elementary have clean clothes, breakfast, and brushed teeth every morning before she begins teaching.

When Child Protective Services showed up at her school for two children, Sonya offered to take them in for the weekend, and six months later, she's their official foster mom. Ellen wanted to reward the selfless woman — who spends a lot out of her own pocket to make sure all her kids have everything they need — so you can probably guess what the TV host did.
