A Happy Snowman Frozen-Themed Party

Mar 18 2014 - 1:12pm

Most Frozen-inspired parties have heavy emphasis on the two princesses, but this adorable little celebration designed by Tammy Mitchell of Pink Peppermint Prints [1] moved the focus over to one of the standout silly characters: Olaf, the snowman. We love this party because girls and boys will both flip over these fun and lovely ideas — and as Tammy says, "My kids love anything Disney. And I love to create celebrations around ordinary things in life to make them something extraspecial!" Check out the supercool party below.

Hanging Backdrop

Easy and inexpensive white paper chains hung at various lengths mimicked the look of falling snow over the dessert table. The simple white paper chains are a great idea, and kids can even get in on the fun with helping make them.

Unexpected Details

From the bunches of baby's breath to the burlap sacks, all the little touches of rustic details were not only perfect, but they also reminded us of Arendelle (from the movie). You can even find most of them in Tammy's online shop [5].

"Build a Snowman" Cookies

Tammy said, "The idea of the 'build a snowman' cookies came to me and I thought it would be a supercute favor and little activity for the kids. Fortunately, I know a great cookie maker, Lizy B Bakes [7], who was totally game to make them when I told her about my design idea."

DIY Snowflake Placemats

One simple idea from this party are the snowflake placemats. Tammy found precut felt snowflakes at Michaels for about $1 each. She used a paintbrush and painted each one with glue, then covered them with fake snow. She said, "The snowflakes weren't that cute when they were just plain felt, but the addition of the snow really gave them a new life. They looked so fun and the texture was great!"

DIY Frozen Sign

One of Tammy's favorite projects from the party was the "frozen" sign. She said, "I bought simple wood letters from Hobby Lobby and painted them with glue. The bright Martha Stewart [13] glitter made them gorgeous!"

Snowman Milk Bottles

These snowman milk bottles are actually supereasy! Tammy explains how: "I took plastic milk bottles and hot glued mini pom-poms onto the front of them. The scarves are just orange felt that I cut into strips and tied around the tops of the bottles. I snipped the ends to give them some fringe. The top hats on the straws were the perfect finishing touch."

"Build a Snowman" Doughnut Station

The snowman doughnuts were another easy DIY [20]. Tammy said, "I used mini doughnuts topped with a doughnut hole to create a snowman. I added mini chocolate chips for the eyes, pretzels for the arms, and mini sprinkles for the buttons on the snowman."
