Little Girl Without Feet Gets a Puppy Without a Paw as a Gift

Sapphyre Johnson, a 3-year-old whose toes were amputated when she was a baby, has just received a special gift that is sure to pull on your heartstrings — a puppy without a paw. The 9-week-old puppy, Lt. Dan (cleverly named after the iconic Forrest Gump character), found his forever home after his owner, Karen Riddle, knew that the little (for now) German Shepherd would need to go to someone special.

GreenvilleOnline reported that Riddle called up Shriner's hospital, who then put her in contact with the Johnson family. As soon as Sapphyre saw the photo of Lt. Dan, she said, "That's my puppy. He's just like me."

HEART. MELTING.
