A Very Harry Potter Birthday Party

Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, the first installment of the Harry Potter series, was released on Sept. 1, 1998, in the US — which also happens to be back-to-school day at Hogwarts. Now, over 15 years later, the Harry Potter fandom hasn't lost any steam at all. New fans are still falling in love with the story of the Boy Who Lived, and young imaginations continue to fly high (on broomsticks, of course) as they explore the wizarding world we all know and love. Skylar, just 7 years old, is already a "Potterhead" — or a devoted Harry Potter fan. Her themed party pictured below celebrates her love of both the movies and books and proves that the magic of the beloved series is being passed down to the next generation. Source: justJENN

These floating candles make us feel like we're getting a sneak peek at the real Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Source: justJENN

Harry Potter cupcakes!

Harry Potter cupcakes!

Jenn Fujikawa of justJENN recipes made snitch and chocolate frog cupcakes, which she said were served to guests while Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone played in the background to set the magical mood. Hopefully the frogs didn't hop right off the treats like they would have in Harry's world. Source: justJENN

Skylar's crafty parents used Pinterest as inspiration for some of the party decorations. This replication of platform 9 3/4 is uncanny — but we don't think Skylar could pass through this wall to catch the Hogwarts Express. Source: justJENN

As we all know, the wand chooses the wizard, but luckily Skylar's party guests had a few options. Source: justJENN

A true Harry Potter feast is not complete without dripping candelabras and a shoutout to the main man himself (we spy the trio of magical best friends on the plates and napkins). Hedwig even flew in for the party and settled down front and center. Source: justJENN

Skylar wants to go to Hermione's alma mater.

Well, not actually Hermione's alma mater, but Emma Watson, who portrayed Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, attended Brown. Skylar looks up to Watson (not a bad role model!) and hopes to go to Brown one day, too. We see a job at the Ministry of Magic in her future . . . Source: justJENN
