What do your teens wear to school on hot days? In New York City, where late spring and early summer temperatures can top 90 degrees, students at the famed Stuyvesant High School took to the streets on Wednesday to protest their school's dress code. The code, issued at the start of this school year, forbids clothing that reveals midriffs, lower backs, shoulders, and upper thighs.
Hundreds of students donned tank tops and rolled-up shorts to participate in the protest, which they dubbed "Slutty Wednesday." One of them, Andreas Petrossiants, 17, explained that tank tops and other types of revealing clothing are "acceptable to wear by society’s standards.”
