Whether you're a Michigan State fan or not, this news will bring a tear to your eye. Lacey Holsworth, the Spartans' biggest fan, passed away early this morning after a two-year battle with cancer. Lacey made headlines earlier this year for her friendship with Michigan State's star player Adreian Payne. The two met two years ago during the team's annual visit to a local hospital where Lacey was beginning treatment for neuroblastoma, a cancer of the nerves. She asked Adreian to stick around, and a sweet friendship formed. Lacey, who Adreian affectionately referred to as his sister, participated in Spartans' Senior Day activities last month and was in Dallas last week to support her "big brother" in the Final Four tournament.

Her parents shared the following message on Lacey's Instagram page:

Princess Lacey has achieved the ultimate victory. She now dances among angels.... The world is a better place because you were in it. Our hearts are broken. We love you Doll. Dance all night... Mommy and Daddy, Will, Mitchell, and Luke. #LoveLikeLacey
