Legoland's New Florida Hotel Is the Stuff That Kids' Dreams Are Made Of

If your kids drew a picture of their dream hotel, the new Legoland Hotel at Legoland Florida is it. With Pirate, Kingdom, Adventure, and Lego Friends-themed rooms, a disco elevator, and everything from bathroom towel hooks to restaurant buffets situated kid height, the place is a kid's dream come true!

The second Legoland hotel in the US (the company opened one at their California resort in 2013), the Winter Haven location opened to much fanfare last week, just in time for the Summer travel season. A green smoke-breathing Lego dragon and a canon blast of thousands of Lego minifigures kicked off the festivities and were a sign of things to come. The new hotel's 152 rooms are a mere 100 steps from the amusement park's entrance, and guests enjoy early access to the park during their stay. But based on the amenities in the hotel, they may not want to leave their rooms!

Standard guest rooms, which sleep up to five, include king-sized beds for adults and a separate sleeping area for kids. Suites, which sleep up to nine, have a king bed, a living room, a pullout sofa, and kids' play area. Each room is stocked with Lego models and a treasure chest that can only be unlocked after kids do a scavenger hunt through the hotel.

And while all of that sounds like fun, you'll want to encourage your kids to leave the room, because the hotel also features interactive play areas, master builder workshops where kids (and adults) can build side by side with certified Lego master builders, daily and nightly entertainment, and that much-talked-about disco elevator — when the doors close, a disco ball appears and '70s music plays. And don't forget the resort's pool — it's stocked with floating Lego bricks, of course!

The only thing missing from the hotel seems to be "Where Are My Pants?" running on a loop on the in-room TVs!
