When your child first started using a cell phone, did you lay down some ground rules? If so, you'll definitely appreciate Janelle Burley Hoffman's set of iPhone rules for her 13-year-old son that are now sweeping the Internet!

As shared on the Huffington Post, Janelle gave her son Gregory 18 rules for using his iPhone, beginning with: "1. It is my phone. I bought it. I pay for it. I am loaning it to you. Aren't I the greatest?"

I agree with Angela and Erin, mostly because the mother chose to publically humiliate her son instead of giving him the decency to make this a private agreement. There are a few good points but she made a major mistake in refusing to discuss this with him and trusting that she already taught him well. Being a teenager is difficult enough. She published this without taking into consideration how this would affect the only person this was supposed to be for. Parents stroking their own ego isn’t what parenting is about.
