Are You Guilty of Parenting Overshare?

These days, it seems like moms don't know their limits when it comes to parental sharing on social media. From live tweeting their child's birth to bragging about every successful trip to the potty, there is no limit to what moms will post.

Unfortunately, our need to document every moment could be costing us some friends, at least on Facebook. In a recent Today.com survey, 60 percent of participants say they are annoyed by parents who overshare. It's understandable that our friends, especially those who are struggling to conceive, don't want to hear all our amazing mommy moments. Yet there are some, like those who live across the country, who love to see photos of our kids. So how do today's moms find the social media balance?

Thomas P. Farley, the man behind Mister Manners, may have the answer. During a segment on Today, the etiquette expert shared several simple tips for walking the "fine line between posting and boasting." From what not to post (i.e. unpleasant pregnancy details) to how to announce your child's accomplishments, Farley offered some fantastic advice for being a nonannoying social media mom. Check out his tips in the video above, and start to rethink what you share. Front Page
