21 Emotions All Moms Experience (Sometimes All in One Day)

Mar 18 2017 - 12:00pm

From the extreme highs to the superlow lows, this roller coaster called motherhood takes your emotions all over the place. Some days I literally feel like my life as a mom is some kind of psychology experiment to see just how many feelings I can hit in a single 24-hour period. One second you're up and the next you're down, which means, yup, you're a mom — so just remember it's totally normal, and try to enjoy the ride.

We Feel Exhausted

Sometimes There Is Anger

Why would mommy's iPad need a bath?!?!

There Are Times of Joy

Like when you find out your child got a spot in the five-day/week preschool.

. . . Coupled With Guilt

Then you actually have to leave him there — and he's screaming for you not to leave.

There Are Moments When We Feel Desperate

There are times when you'd sell your soul if it meant your children would just go to sleep.

. . . Paired With Content

And they're asleep. Soul saved.

We Can't Escape the Feelings of Panic

The feeling when you've lost sight of your child for five seconds at Disney World.

. . . or Relief

Found him!

And Then There's the Fear (Oh, the Fear)

OMG is she choking? Or just making that weird face again?

Which Makes Us Strong

Bring it!

. . . but Are Protective

What part of "Oh no you didn't" did you not understand?

We Feel Overwhelmed

First sleepover, first day of school, first dance, or anything "first" really.

All While Trying to Remain Calm

After your spouse talks you down from your ledge, of course.

But the Feelings of Pure Love Just Can't Be Beat!

It's those unsolicited hugs, kisses, and "I love yous."
