Our hearts go out to the family of Etan Patz. Today, a new lead in the three decades old missing child case that stunned the nation in 1979 has led investigators to a building in Manhattan just a block away from where Patz went missing. Law enforcement officers have cordoned off the area and are now searching the building for evidence.
Patz's family was devastated when their 6-year-old vanished on his walk to school 33 years ago. He had convinced his parents to let him walk to school alone for the first time. His face was the first to be put on the side of a milk carton, and the day he went missing, May 25th, is now National Missing Children's Day.
Police have not commented on what led them to the building they are currently searching.
