Dr. Seuss Fans, Rejoice! A Lost Book Will Be Published This Summer

One book, two book, lost book, new book. That's the gist of the exciting discovery that a lost Dr. Seuss manuscript has not only been discovered but that it's being published!

More than 20 years after the death of Theodor Seuss Geisel, What Pet Should I Get? will be published by Random House on July 28, though it is available for preorder now.

The not-so-new book – complete with full text and illustrations and featuring the same children from the One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish story – is, according to the publishing house, about the difficulties of decision-making: "What happens when a brother and sister visit a pet store to pick a pet? Naturally, they can't choose just one! The tale captures a classic childhood moment and uses it to illuminate a life lesson: that it is hard to make up your mind, but sometimes you just have to do it!"

The unearthed book was likely written between 1958 and 1962, and it might not be the last one we'll get from the late author. Random House also plans to release at least two more books, based on materials found in the late author's home.
