The sleep-deprivation that comes along with a new baby sure made us absent-minded. So when we heard that a new mom in Phoenix, AZ, had driven off with her infant son buckled into his car seat — on the roof of her car, we assumed her lack of shut-eye was to blame. Thankfully, the little guy survived and is doing fine, but he's now in the custody of child protective services — and it's not because his mom is too tired to take care of him.
It turns out that Catalina Clouser, 19, had been smoking marijuana in a park with her boyfriend right before propping her son on the roof of her 2000 Ford Focus and driving away. She's now facing child endangerment and DUI charges.
Her boyfriend was arrested in a separate DUI incident that same night.
