Parents Post 65-Question Survey for Potential Part-Time Nanny

It's common sense to interview thoroughly when you're hiring someone to provide childcare, but is a recent ad posted by a New York couple on Craigslist going too far?

Some of the 65 questions contained in the ad's survey might be ones we would (or wish we could) ask our child care providers, but others are pretty extreme. The survey asks applicants about everything from citizenship and drug use (prescription or not) to how often they bathe and wash their hair. They're also asked to indicate, from a list of examples, the various situations in which they might wash their hands. To complete their application for employment, applicants also need to turn in a doctor's letter stating that they're healthy and able to care for two children.
