Plus-Sized Clothes for Kids Stirs Debate

The growing availability of "plus-sized" children's clothing (Gap, Old Navy, The Children's Place and Sears all have plus-sized clothing options for children ages 3 and up) can help parents more easily find clothes that fit their kids.  But the term "plus-sized" hasn't received an entirely positive reception from parents. 

As the Huffington Post reports, some parents are concerned that the term "plus-sized" is inappropriate in the world of children's clothing, because it makes children feel different and hurts their self esteem. Morgan Joseph, a tall 11-year-old admits: "I don't really enjoy the word 'plus.' I'd rather them just put numbers like they do for other kids."
