Sneak Peek: Disney's New Miles From Tomorrowland Looks Out of This World

STEM (or STEAM) is the name of the game both in schools and educational programming these days, and the latest show to join the Disney Junior lineup plays right into the theme with an intergalactic adventure featuring Miles and Merc — two characters who are destined to become the newest stars on the network. Miles From Tomorrowland, which premieres on Feb. 6, blends "space and science facts with action/adventure and humor" to provide tots with an early look at outer space. The show is built around Miles Callisto and his family, who help connect the galaxy for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (yup, the same Tomorrowland you'll find in Disney parks). The series features a host of recognizable voices such as Mark Hamill, George Takei, Bill Nye, and Olivia Munn, and individuals from NASA, JPL, Space Tourism Society, and Google consult on the show.

The opening sequence, which you're seeing here first, features a Maroon 5-like band singing the intro and introducing the characters. Shorts from the show — called "Message from Miles" — will begin appearing on the Disney Channel and Disney Junior tomorrow.
