Little League Coach Hits a Home Run With His Postloss Speech

Between back-to-back games, crazy coaches, and even crazier parents, children's sports can quickly turn from fun to ferocious. But one coach recently reminded his players what athletics are all about. After his team lost the Little League World Series, Rhode Island coach Dave Belisle sat the boys down and delivered one of the most moving speeches we've seen outside a sports movie. As his players fought back tears, Belisle assured them that there was no reason to be disappointed and that he couldn't be prouder of their efforts on the field.

"There's no disappointment in your effort, in the whole tournament, in the whole season," he told his team. "The only reason why I'll probably end up shedding a tear is because this is the last time I'm gonna end up coaching you guys."

As he wrapped up, Belisle gathered the boys for a group hug and told them that they gave him the most precious moment of his athletic career. We think his words have earned him coach of the year — don't you?
