Santa Visits For Autistic Kids

Malls Offer Quiet Santa Visits For Kids With Autism

For kids with autism, a visit to see Santa is anything but merry. Between loud noises, flashing lights, and crowds of people, it can be an unbearable — if not terrifying — experience. To help autistic children cope with the chaos, several malls across the US and Canada are offering a one-of-a-kind experience. Starting last weekend, participating malls opened an hour early so children can meet Santa in a quiet space. To create an extra peaceful and pleasant visit, the malls provide activities for the kids to do while they wait their turn. This simple act has made it possible for parents to create a long-lasting memory for their little one.
