Teenagers get a bad rap, but these New Hampshire seniors who paid it forward to their selfless high school principal are far from the normal stereotype of the modern-day teen. Courtney Vashaw, principal of Profile High School, told her students that she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer and that she'd be out of school for a while. Less than a week later, her seniors made a unanimous decision to donate the $8,000 raised for their class trip to her cause.

One senior said of Vashaw, "She's just very caring, very selfless, and we wanted to be selfless, too," and another added, "Every one of us has a connection with her, and she has given so much to us that we just wanted to give back." Vashaw was overwhelmed by the generosity of her students and at a loss of what to say to such an inspiring group. She commented with awe, "They're a pretty remarkable, fun, astonishing group of people."

The students are taking a low-key local trip in lieu of the one originally organized and plan on having more fundraisers for the principal they all adore.
