Glee Comes to Life Thanks to "Uptown Funk" and 1 School's Awesome Theater Teacher

School isn't really like Glee or even Fame, with students singing and dancing in the hallways — unless you're a student at A. Maceo Smith New Tech High School. For students at the Dallas, TX, technology magnet school, all it took was Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars's hit "Uptown Funk" and a creative theater teacher to get them shaking their hips and moving to the beat.

Theater arts teacher Scot Pankey recruited the students to be his backup dancers in a video that shows him dancing his way through groups of high schoolers in the hallways. According to the description Pankey posted on the video, "This is a great example of how a bunch of technology students let go of their fears, trusted their teacher and got down to 'Uptown Funk!'"

The video, which was all shot in one long take and recorded by one of the students (who walked backward through the entire shoot), culminates with all of the students coming together for a choreographed finale that can't be missed.

Don't you think school would be more productive if there were more "spontaneous" dance parties like this? Bravo to this teacher — and his students — for putting us all in a good mood today!
