"I can't even!" It's a phrase we often espouse during a frustrating commute, when we chip a fresh manicure, or after a longer-than-expected line at Starbucks. It's all too much.

In honor of National Teacher Day, a video crew from TeachersCount asked New Yorkers about their most recent "I can't even . . . " moments, but what the nonprofit organization followed it up with was truly humbling. After people rattled off their everyday complaints, they were tasked with reading the things teachers across the nation "can't even" deal with on a daily basis. A few especially disheartening responses?

I can't even have one weekend free from lesson planning.

I can't even give my kids time to be kids because there's so much curriculum to get through.

I can't even afford to send my own kid to college.

Yes, everyone has problems, but the next time you find yourself annoyed by one, just take a minute to think about those who have it a little harder, who need a little extra appreciation for what they do. And this week especially, think about teachers.
