Graceanne Rumer, 17, became a hero this week when she steered a school bus to safety Tuesday afternoon. The fast-acting Philadelphia teen, who had just learned how to drive, grabbed the wheel of her speeding school bus after the driver collapsed and fell to the ground from a heart attack. The bus was heading into oncoming traffic, so she made a U-turn to slow it down and change its direction.

The bus driver died soon after; none of the children were injured.
