Whoever coined the phrase "fighting like cats and dogs" clearly never met Molly, a two-year-old American bull dog whose maternal instinct defies common wisdom.

Molly gave birth to a litter of puppies only one day before her owner's cat, "Kitty Kitty," also became a mother, both about six weeks ago. Soon after, Kitty Kitty was hit by a car, but Molly came to the rescue: she adopted Kitty Kitty's litter as her own.

Molly now regularly nurses the kittens as well as her own pups, and they follow her around the house just as if she were their real mom.
