This Video of a Drunk 9-Year-Old Will Leave You Speechless

We've all seen articles comparing children's behavior to that of drunken adults, and, of course, we laugh. But when a child becomes drunk, it's far from funny. A teen recently posted a video to YouTube of an intoxicated 9-year-old. The boy, who seems to be named Bailey, can be seen swearing, slurring his words, and stumbling throughout a skate park. His aunt had apparently given him multiple cans of Cody's, a bourbon-cola mixture found in New Zealand. Despite bystanders saying he was OK, the boy filming the video eventually called the ambulance.

In a press conference yesterday, police said the boy actually drank eight cans of Cody's as well as two shots. Police are investigating the adults responsible for his consumption. While the boy claimed his aunt provided him with the alcohol, his father suspects the mother had something to do with it.

"My heart is ripping out at the moment; I'm trying to hold it together," the father, who asked to remain anonymous, told the New Zealand Herald. He added that his other son, an 11-year-old, showed up at his house with bruises all over his leg. He reported the incident to the police and Child, Youth and Family (New Zealand's equivalent of Child Protective Services), but the boy was returned to his mother the next day. After this most recent incident, he has decided to take action to gain custody of his children.

"What I want to do is get my sons out of that situation where they're allowed to drink and smoke dope."
