New Female Condom Promises an Orgasm Every Time

Female condoms have never seriously taken off, but the VA w.o.w. from IXu in Michigan could change all that. The smart, comfortable, vibrating sheath prevents STIs and pregnancy and gives women more of a chance to enjoy sex and reach climax than without.

US company IXu says it has developed a solution for preventing pregnancy, stopping STIs and putting an end to dull love-making, all at the same time — its new VA w.o.w. female condom features a heart- or star-shaped vibrating sleeve which pretty much guarantees a happy ending for women, which makes for hot sex for both of you. The condom's makers are even going so far as to say it's better than having sex with no condom at all.

In a study of 50 women, 70 percent had an orgasm the first time they used the VA w.o.w., 84 percent the second time, and 100 percent by the fourth time. Those statistics are sure to generate a lot of interest no matter what your gender.

The wireless, Bluetooth-enabled prophylactic includes miniature vibrators on its outer ring. "It was a higher orgasm rate for women than even for men," IXu's Brian Osterberg told the Daily Dot. If she interested in trying a toy and protection is a priority for her, this might be the one sex toy she'll love. "It just goes to show how powerful the technology is." The company is waiting for regulatory approval in the US but the VA w.o.w. could launch in Europe in the next 12-18 months.

Female condoms have never proved popular due to issues with comfort and practicality; what's more, they're expensive to develop and test. The VA w.o.w. could change all that though, if it gets the go-ahead from the FDA. IXu says the condom can be inserted up to eight hours before sex. The company is looking for partners to manufacture its titillating new product across the globe.

It might be the breakthrough that many have been waiting for, including women's rights groups — the female condom is the only existing method of preventing sexually transmitted infection that can be entirely controlled by the woman. If it works as advertised, there are unlikely to be many men complaining either.
