Mom Gives Birth in (the Front Seat of) Her Car

The tornado warnings were the last thing on Beth Farina's mind last week. When the 24-year-old from Illinois felt her baby coming, she and her husband, Trevor, jumped in the car and headed straight to the hospital. But the baby refused to wait for the doctors, and Beth ended up delivering the baby while sitting shotgun. Though Trevor offered to pull over to help his wife, who happens to be a nurse-in-training, she insisted that he keep driving. Looking back, Beth admits that may not have been the safest decision, but in the moment it felt right.

"I don't think I really had time to panic," Beth tells Today. "I kind of just did what I had to do." Beth says she and her newborn son, Tobias Benjamin Farina, are doing great. Source: Flickr user Sharon Mollerus
