THINX Is Launching Period-Proof Underwear For Teens to Make Their Lives So Much Easier

Most of us can remember where we were when we got our first periods as tweens or teens, as it's one of those moments that really sticks with you. From then on, you're a woman, getting paid a visit by Mother Nature every month — a very annoying visit filled with cramps, overfull pads, pesky tampons, and bloating — praying that you can get through the week without having any cringe-worthy moments, like staining your pants. To help make the transition into having a period easier for young girls, THINX, the company behind period-proof underwear, has launched BTWN, a like-minded line made specially for teen periods.

If you're unfamiliar with THINX, the environmentally-friendly underwear line made headlines when it boasted regular-looking (yet cute!) underwear that could hold up to two tampons' worth of blood — meaning no pads or pantyliners, no tampons, and, hopefully, no wads of toilet paper as a placeholder if your period catches you by surprise. THINX (BTWN), which is aimed at girls ages 9 to 16, is designed in the exact same way, but features smaller sizes and higher absorbency to eliminate the worry that comes with having your period as a teen (and the worry you may be feeling as a parent).

"First periods can be a scary and challenging time for both the parents and children.
